Description
This mushroom got its name because the shape and color of the hat are reminiscent of an oyster. The flesh of the oyster mushroom is soft and fleshy and somewhat resembles the structure of veal. The oyster mushroom is grown on straw packages. The bunches of oyster mushrooms are picked by hand and then cut loose by hand into loose mushrooms. The oyster mushroom is an attractive mushroom in mixes for various dishes. There are three types of oyster mushrooms: the gray oyster mushroom, the pink oyster mushroom and the yellow oyster mushroom. The gray oyster mushroom has the best shelf life.

Yummy
The oyster mushroom goes well with many (green) vegetables, chicken, veal and a steak. Due to its texture and bite, the mushroom is also a good meat alternative, for example in a dish such as pulled mushrooms. The oyster mushroom is suitable for crispy frying, stir-frying and gentle stewing. When baking, the mushroom is often torn into pieces, so that the edges are nice and crispy.
